It’s time for the Auto Industry to return the favor.
In December 2008, the three major U.S. auto industry companies — GM, Chrysler and Ford — asked the government for a $34 billion bailout to avoid bankruptcy. The Big 3 stated that their demise would trigger 3 million layoffs within a year, plunging the economy further into recession. In January 2009, the Federal government used $24.9 billion of the $700 billion bank bailout fund to rescue two of the Big 3. It’s time for the Auto Industry to return the favor and bail out Rock & Roll.

1955 gave birth to Rock and Roll when Bill Haley & his Comets topped the Billboard Charts with ’Rock Around the Clock’. That same year Chevrolet reinvented the automobile with an all new “Motoramic” style, known as the 55′ Chevy. The two were drawn together like leather and denim, and have been inseparable until the death of Kurt Cobain. In 1994 Honda released the Civic Si, and things havent been the same since.
Cars, like Rock used to be loud, bold and sexy. Now they are bland boring and wimpy. Just watch the first 51 seconds of ‘Dazed and Confused’ and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I applaud Ford and Dodge for their recent efforts, but only middle aged divorced men can afford a Mustang or a Charger. I’m calling out the Auto Industry to help save Rock & Roll by designing an affordable muscle car. Ford did it with the original Mustang, I know they can do it again. Please, for the sake of Rock N’ Roll.
Hip-Hop’s safe, you can listen to that shit on a bicycle.
